Dip Powder Removal at Home - Full Guide with Video Instructions

Hey dippers,

Hope all is well with you! We are doing fine, just keeping busy with all the #nailtalk. Today we want to share with you how to remove dip powder nails at home.

The quickest and most efficient way to remove the dip powder and prep for your next application, is to use our gel/powder reusable removers. If you didn't get to order them just yet, not to worry, we'll cover you with these simple steps before you do.

Don't forget to check our dip powder kits, they come fully equipped!

In the absence of removers, you will need these following tools:

  • Nail file

  • Acetone

  • Cotton balls or a small bowl

  • Foil

Start preping your nails, and don't worry, if you follow these EASY 5 steps, everything will be alright! As a matter a fact, most of you gals are already PROs when it comes to it!

The removal process is quite simple. You don't have to take our word for it, just follow these simple steps and you'll get the best result!

  1. Dip a cotton ball in acetone, place it over your nail with an aluminium foil and leave it to rest for about 10 minutes. After that, just start to gently press or prod at the powder nail and it should come right off, just like an acrylic gel does.
  2. Start buffing! You need to let the acetone penetrate by helping it a little. Just file the top layer using back and forth and side to side motions, until your nails are covered with fine white dust. Don't overdo it!

  3. Save yourself the effort of rubbing the nails with acetone soaked cotton ball, that won't do much. Drench a cotton ball in acetone and place it on top of your buffed nail, then wrap it in foils to help break the bonds. Alternatively, you can place your hands in a bowl of acetone, although we don't really like doing that!

  4. It's in the details - once you're done, the dip powder should come off instantly! Dip powder uses an easier to remove nail glue compared to other gel manicures, so the removal process isn't damaging.

  5. Give your nails some love! The temptation is great to just jump right onto your next mani and share your brand new baby on Insta, but before you do that...give your nails some love. Allow your nails some time to breathe and make sure you apply plenty of nail care product before going straight into dipping.
